The following article was originally published on our main agency website. We’ve gone through the process now of setting up these Google Guarantee Ads for a couple of roofers and they’re seeing great results. We know this is going to be huge for auto repair shops as well. We hope you find value in this article. Let us know if you have any questions about Google Guarantee Ads or the process of becoming verified. The best way to do that is to join our Facebook group – “Auto Repair Marketing Mastermind” – and ask in there, that way others benefit from your questions and comments.

Knowing what to post, when and how often for your social media can be overwhelming. I like to follow a simple structure that, even throughout the many changes Facebook has gone through over the years, still proves efficient for engagement! I call it the 50, 30, 20 rule.

Social media content can be divided into 3rd’s.

  • 50% of your social media post should be fun entertaining and engaging. The idea is to get your audience involved, liking and sharing your content.
  • 30% should be industry news, tips and ideas. This info should be educational but not boring. The idea is to provide quick and simple continuing education for your audience in relation to your industry. This included sharing information from other sources (industry experts) as well as your own blog.
  • 20% of content on you social media is where you have an opportunity for sales. But do it in a creative way so you don’t sound so “salesy”.

For example: “Which classes are you most looking forward to us (5 Stones Media) offering in 2015?”

Although we offer our classes for free, we also get many new clients this way. We are asking a valuable question to better shape the classes we teach to fit the needs of our clients, while pitching a service we offer! Easy peasy.

All of our social media managers tend to follow this outline at 5 Stones to be sure we’re creating a variety of post. Go ahead, take a look at your most recent post and see how much of each kind of post you have. Try to re-structure your posting and just remember 50, 30, 20! Check the engagement after a week or so and you’ll see the difference I’m talking about!
