Creative Project Manager

Summary:

The SMP Creative Project Manager (CPM) ensures that all creative projects are completed on time and to the client’s satisfaction, that the project’s objectives are met and that everyone else is doing their job properly. Creative Projects typically focus on Website Design and Graphic Design, but could also include special projects where the project manager’s skills are beneficial, as well as inhouse design projects. The Creative Project Manager oversees the creative team to ensure that they are each performing their function and also have all the tools they need to complete the project on-time. The CPM also is focused heavily on client communication to manage expectations and convey timelines and changes between the SMP staff and the client. The CPM is constantly looking for ways to improve processes to achieve better results for both the company and the client. It is also the CPM’s responsibility to report key performance metrics to the Director of Operations and leadership team on the performance of the Creative Team.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Establishing Standard Operating Procedures for the Creative Team
  • Ensuring Web Dev Projects are completed on time
  • Maintenance of Project Management software and projects for Creative Team
  • Regular Communication with Clients for the duration of their project, including phone, email, and video
  • Presence in kickoff Meeting with Client and any requested meetings from the client
  • Coordinating with external vendors for pricing and ordering when necessary
  • Ensuring that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Management of team members on the creative team, such as developers, graphic designers, and website administrators
  • Reporting of key metrics to the Director of Operations and Leadership team, such as average time to launch a website, customer satisfaction with website process, number of current websites in progress, and customer/staff headlines
  • Continually developing and improving creative processes to improve team synergy and client satisfaction
  • Interviewing and Hiring members of the creative team along side members of the leadership team
  • Monitoring Creative team workload and delegating projects based on workload and skill level
  • Managing Virtual Assistants
  • Mitigating issues with personnel and assisting Human Resources when team issues arise
  • Communication and Management of Virtual Assistants and international Creatives
  • Maintenance of all creative files and designs on cloud storage software
