Get An Entire Month’s Marketing Content In 5 Minutes

Custom content that’s 100% specific to your auto repair shop!

Does it sound impossible? Too good to be true? It’s not – and it’s quite simple, actually. Welcome to The Content Engine!

The Content Engine is a program that was born out of a class that we did at the Vision conference in Kansas City this year (2020). We showed what we did as part of the “done for you” marketing package for one of our clients. The idea was to show auto repair shop owners how they could easily come up with the ideas for a lot of marketing content by starting with one foundational piece, like a video or a blog post.

The thing is, shop owners don’t want to do this stuff. You have other more pressing things to get done, and the number of people who asked us what it would cost for us to just do it for them was crazy.

The Content Engine was born!

How Does It Work?

For The Content Engine to work, it starts with you or someone on your staff creating a short video. Hang with me for a minute…

We know that a lot of people are afraid of video. I’ve heard all of the excuses:

  • I don’t “do” video
  • My videos are not going to look professional
  • I hate the way I (look / sound / stammer / fill in the blank) when I’m on camera
  • My shop is old and run down

Look, I get it. It’s uncomfortable to put yourself out there on video. But what’s harder? Writing blog posts, coming up with email content, and writing a bunch of social posts – or – hitting record on your cell phone and taking a couple of minutes to explain something that you know inside and out?

Besides, you don’t even need to be the one to do it. You have staff – take turns!

See the video below that Stephen Beatty from CAMS Automotive did where he simply answered a question that they get often. “What kinds of repairs do y’all do?”

That was a 90 second video done without any special equipment. Now that’s more than just a video that gets uploaded to the CAMS Automotive YouTube channel. Look what we were able to do with it.

First, we turned it into a social “meme” video by adding the title and caption and making it the preferred 1:1 square format for social media. This gets shared to Facebook and Instagram.

Next, we had one of our writers turn it into a blog post to go on the website. This is great for search engine optimization (SEO), and it’s just good authoritative content that helps your readers get to know, like, and trust you.

The blog was then sent out to his customer database via email, placing CAMS Automotive in each client’s inbox as a subtle reminder that they are there to serve them.
Pull quotes were taken from the video and the blog post and turned into graphics to be used on social media.

And finally, due to the wonderful gift that Stephen gave us when he did the “face smash”, we were able to make some great memes to be used in social, email, advertisements, and wherever else we can find a place for them.

Yes, sure, this is all stuff that you can do yourself. We’ve given you a template of sorts just by looking at what we did for CAMS. But like so many of the shop owners who were in our class, you may not have the time to do it or you might not WANT to do it.

“I just had a client call me up to tell me we’ve done a great job with our newsletter and social media posts, and he’s one of many customers that are noticing. We’re in the business of fixing cars, not marketing and automotive repair shop, so i would prefer to leave that to experts like Shop Marketing Pros so i can focus on what we’re really good at: taking care of our clients.”
